Eastern Sierras: The Color of Autumn
  Oct 14-19, 2012

   Doug Johnson & Tim Cooper

If you are passionate about photography, I can't think of a better way to spend a week than on a workshop with Tim and Doug. Zion was my second workshop with Tim and my first one with Doug. It is very clear that the participants' learning experience is their top priority. The workshop was professionally planned, the shooting locations beautiful and the classroom lectures informative and entertaining. I don't know if my next workshop will be in Death Valley or the Eastern Sierra but I know it will be with Tim and Doug. Andreas Friedl, Madison, WI

THE WORKSHOP:
Its no secret why the renowned landscape and adventure photographer, Galen Rowell called this place home and established Mountain Light… its photographically incredible. His indomitable spirit continues to shine thru all of us who experience this beautiful place called "The Eastern Sierra". With Doug and Tim's guidance to shooting locations, help in the field and the insightful critiques all week long, your ability to communicate photographically your experiences in this diverse and interesting part of the world will take a big leap forward.

THE PARK:
All of California is certainly beautiful, but the eastern side of the Sierra Mountains is unique…. its dry, quiet and time seems to stand still. Sounds like the perfect place for a photography workshop and it is! The fall color is amazing and the shooting locations are fantastic with amazing and diverse landscapes from ghost towns and tufa formations to bristle cone pines and boulders. From Bishop, CA (our home base), heading in any direction, our photo adventures are virtually endless. Going north we'll capture the amazing light and color around Mono Lake, Bodie Ghost Town and Yosemite National Park.

South, sunrise will wake up the Sierra and Mt Whitney in the giant boulders of Alabama Hills and high above the Owens Valley, ancient bristle cone pines of the White Mountains will fill your frame. To the West, the buttermilks set the stage for the amazing Sierras and the colors of fall quietly surround the small mountain lakes of Sabrina and Rock Creek. It’s a photographic adventure you'll never forget and your images will share the experience.
