Scotland: The Highlands and Islands
  September 20-29, 2012

Lynn Hoffman Brouse & Tim Cooper

"My husband and I have attended two very diverse workshops with Tim Cooper, and in each his approach to his students was exceptional in sensitivity to individual needs, patience in teaching style, and total grasp of his subject matter. Tim is both a patient teacher and a knowledgeable professional who can bring you to the next level in your photography skill". Ellen K.

THE WORKSHOP:
Fall in Scotland brings great low angle photographic light from dawn till dusk. To maximize time spent in the field, this workshop will focus on field shooting and classroom critique. The emphasis will be on helping every student in the field with composition, exposure and issues of light and weather. Even though there will be few formal lectures, Tim and Lynn will be able to cover topics of interest as we travel from location to location. Mid-day and evening critiques will give you valuable feedback that you can bring to the field the next day. Tim and Lynn are excited to share their love of Scotland as well as their love of photography. Lots of individual instruction allows us to give you exactly what you want from a workshop. Lots of different locations give you the opportunity to try many different types of photographs. Of course, being around great people who love travel and photography as much as you do is the icing on the cake. Whether you are an intermediate or advanced photographer, you’ll benefit from the one on one time in the field, thoughtful critiques and great tour guides.

THE PLACE:
Tim and Lynn want to show you some of Scotland’s most wild and beautiful places, along with giving you a sense of the culture and history of the country. With that in mind, we will travel, via luxury mini bus with professional driver, from Edinburgh north to Inverness and to the Isles of Lewis & Harris and Skye. You will photograph everything from mountains and seascapes to castles and gardens. We’ll visit historical sites and, of course, a distillery or two. Fall colors and ever-changing weather will make for both dramatic and wonderfully soft light throughout the day.
